FLOURISH INTO SPRING WITH A FEMININE FLORAL-INSPIRED COLOUR PALETTE

PRETTY PASTELS

Pastel lids were all the rage at the catwalks of Galliano and Lagerfeld. The great thing is that they compliment most complexions and offer a soft, playful finish that works well for both day and night. For a contemporary look, don't match your eyeshadow with your eye colour – It can look dated. Go for contrasting hues: Pale blues, lilacs work well against brown eyes. Green eyes suit soft peach and buttermilk yellows, while blue-eyed girls should opt for violet and pink. If you haven't mastered your blending skills, stick to one shade and apply it as a wash of colour.

SUPER NATURAL
A fresh-faced look demands radiant skin, so enhance glow by using an exfoliator to slough away dead skin followed by a radiance-boosting facemask and plenty of moisturiser. Less is more when it comes to a pared down complexion, so apply a sheer foundation only where needed, then dab concealer on trouble zones. Bring the face to life with peachy cheeks, neutral eyes and transparent gloss.

CANDY FLOSS CHEEKS
Ditch the bronzer at least until the summer. Spring skin looks best with a cooler colour palette. Pink is a universally flattering shade and, when dusted onto the cheeks, gives the face a youthful appearance. Remember to swirl the blusher directly onto the apples of the cheeks to achieve a doll-like flush of colour.
